Make Your Year-End Donation to Fairfax Advocates for Better Bicycling!

You may have noticed new bike lanes near where you live or work -- or maybe you've used the new bike room at the Wiehle Avenue Silver Line station. These are some of the many signs of Fairfax becoming a more bicycle-friendly place.

You have probably heard about plans to improve I-66. Originally those plans did not include a parallel bike trail. Because of FABB's involvement and our work to get hundreds of citizens to write letters in support of the trail, the plans now include a comprehensive bike network connecting western Fairfax to the Custis Trail.

Fairfax Advocates for Better Bicycling (FABB) has been pushing Fairfax County to make these and other improvements so your ride is safer and easier. As you make your end-of-year charitable donations, please hope you will consider donating to FABB. FABB is an all-volunteer organization group that promotes promoting bicycling as a viable transportation option in Fairfax County. FABB volunteers work with the community to make bicycling a safe, cost-effective, and easy way to get around Fairfax.

FABB has successfully advocated for enactment of the County's first Bicycle Master Plan, which was adopted in 2014. The Plan contains many ambitious goals for improving bicycling in Fairfax, including new bike infrastructure, education and encouragement programs. Without sufficient funding, Fairfax County will not be able to realize these implement many of those goals. It's up to us to make sure the county lives up to the commitment it made when adopting the Plan.

Bicycle Master Plan

The coming year will be a new milestone for FABB as we have decided to become an independent non-profit organization in order to be more effective in our bicycle advocacy. Until now, FABB has been a sponsored project of the Washington Area Bicycling Association By venturing out on our own, we will be better able to serve cyclists in Fairfax County. We need your support more than ever before to make that happen.

Please help us with a year-end tax-deductible donation today.

Among our main goals for 2016: We were very productive in 2015. Some of our accomplishments include:
